Dirty Porcelain Sink?

When I moved in to my current place the porcelain sink in the kitchen wasn’t in the best shape it had scratches and was stained but this past weekend I had company over and cooked a lot and after washing my dishes I noticed the porcelain even more scratched and stained and since I’m nesting and obsessed with cleaning I decided to go to the internet for solutions! So I tried a couple of cleaning solutions using things I had around the house and found what really works! I experimented so you don’t have to! (You’re welcome)

Before

Need:

  • Bleach
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Paper towels
  • Sponge

Prooducts

Step 1:

Coat your non abrasive side of the sponge in baking soda and scrub your sink.

Tip: use circular motions

Step 2:

Pour hydrogen peroxide on the sponge again using the non ebrasive side and scrub your sink.

Step 3:

Leave baking soda and hydrogen peroxide on your sink for 15 minutes.

Step 4:

With soap, water and sponge rinse your sink. I didn’t use a new sponge, I just rinsed off the sponge I was using with soap and water. Once your sink is rinsed you will notice a difference!! I on the other hand wanted a little more shine. So on to the next step! The shine!

Optional step 5:

Soak paper towels in bleach and lay them all over your sink for 30 minutes and vuala it’s almost as good as new!!!

Renaissance Pleasure Faire

On April 8th, I was lucky to go to opening day of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire! Before they opened the gates, they had a couple of gents greeting us and welcoming us to the faire.

When we first walked in my daughter was whisked away to paint. The gentleman asked what my daughter’s name was and he gave her a corresponding letter on paper to paint. So, adorable that the paint is inside the seashells. Very easy for her to paint since they were water colors.

Once she finished painting her letter she was greeted and given beautiful Daffodils. I truly love the attention they were giving her as if she were the only one at the entire faire but they still managed to give the same attention to other children as well, they even gave little Azalea a flower that I think she ended up eating later 🙂 girls gotta eat!

We then found our way at the maypole where there was a performance going on. I know it sounds a little daunting when it’s called the pleasure faire but they have a lot of kid friendly activities and shows. The performers at the maypole were very sweet with my child crashing their party.

When we walked into the faire we were immediately told about the Queens College where there are a lot of crafts for kids of all ages. There is definitely a craft for everyone.

Mask Painting- This was part of the Children’s Craft Garden

In addition to the Queens College and fun shows they have a lot of kid friendly rides like swings and they have a cute petting zoo with llamas, bunnies, fuzzy chickens and more! They even have a place for the little ones, with blocks and little toys.

Baby Play Area

There’s a ton a space and open areas for kids to run around and be kids. It’ll definitely make the little ones tired.

In all it was such a fun trip, Sophia Rose is 4 years old and this is up her ally with princesses and fairies. I was really taken back by her watching the shows. She wanted to sit and watch all the shows and even laughed and made comments at appropriate times. With her Autism, you never know how she’ll react or take a crowd but everything is so spread out and wide that it didn’t feel crowded.

I hope you enjoyed my view on the faire!

Tips:

  • Bring cash!! They have ATM’s but all the rides and crafts cost money and only accept cash. Most vendors accept credit cards.
  • There are quite a few porter potty’s but there are real bathrooms scattered around the faire.

Children under 4 years old are free! Tickets can be purchased below:

YouTube Red Originals Family Premier Event

This past Wednesday (4/5/17) my friend invited me to join her at the YouTube Space in L.A. for the YouTube Red Originals Family Premiere where we would screen completely new and original content from YouTube! It seems the next obvious step for this company to make original content for our tech savvy youth. We were able to see the four newest shows coming out which are DanTDM Creates a Big Scene, Kings of Atlantis, Hyperlinked and Fruit Ninja: Frenzy Force. I’m currently a YouTube Red subscriber and highly recommend it if you don’t have it. It’s inexpensive and not only do you get what’s already on YouTube you’ll get the original content coming out and music!

What was really exciting is that after we screened the shows DanTDM was there and did a fun Q&A with the kids. I, myself knew and recognized Dan from just his voice because my daughter LOVES watching him on Youtube. After the Q &A he went outside for a meet and greet where he signed autographs and took photos with the kids.

Outside the space on the lawn they had yummy food and fun outdoor games like giant Jenga and bean bag toss.

Now to the exciting part, the shows!!

One of the most interesting parts of the screening was watching the kid’s reaction from the audience. Being a mother of a child with autism I just get a kick out of kid’s reactions especially at appropriate times. At the funny parts of the show the laughter would fill the entire space, it was contagious.
